Off the wedding ring goes...

My hands & feet been swelling up from all the water weight. Decided to take off my ring before it gets even more swollen—it hurt hella bad when I took it off, felt like my finger tip was gonna pop! Feels so naked without it. I hate the feeling of not having my ring on too. ): It’s constant tingling/numb feeling on my fingertips, especially my right one. My feet are swollen too, so most of my shoes are uncomfortable & too tight.

37 weeks tomorrow; officially full term! TJ can be expected any day now. Hopefully he’ll stay comfortable inside me until after March 1st since I’m not going on my leave until then. I think people are starting to notice my belly is starting to drop little by little. My mom started making me all these weird Chinese things to drink too. :P

It’s beautiful outside, but I feel sooo out of it today. Just wanna stay home and relax… one of those days. Maybe I’ll go walk Peanut around the block. Need to do more walking! Then come home and take a nap so this little dull headache will go away. It’s a 3 day weekend, but it’s no fun when Thomas’ at work. ): At least his boss cut down his hours today and he has a shorter shift.

Anyway, hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Stop and Hear the Music → youtube.com

Something my coworker showed me earlier today. Very interesting…

In the 45 minutes the musician played, only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money, but continued to walk their normal pace. He collected $32. When he finished playing and silence took over, no one noticed it. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the most talented musicians in the world. He had just played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, on a violin worth $3.5 million dollars.

Two days before his playing in the subway, Joshua Bell sold out at a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.

This is a real story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste, and priorities of people. The outlines were: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour: Do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize the talent in an unexpected context?

One of the possible conclusions from this experience could be:

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?
